Latex. That was the material that Marc Tule used when he was looking for a path away from perfection. He says, “After 20 years of shooting, sometimes I hit that proverbial creative wall. I decided to let go of my obsession for perfection and see where it could take me.”
The resulting photographs titled the ‘Encapsulated Series’ are a polished monochromatic exploration of how form is visualized two-dimensionally. The shine of the encapsulated objects beautifully articulates shapes in space. With strong highlights and rich flat backgrounds, the photos are a strange blend of artistic abstraction and smooth commercial photography.
