Man Fills His Home With Over 300 Stray Animals To Protect Them From Hurricane Delta

Hurricane Delta put everyone on high alert including Ricardo Pimentel. He works in an animal sanctuary called Tierra de Animales. He knew that he needed to protect the animals living there, so Ricardo did everything he could to ensure their safety during the hurricane.

However, Ricardo knew that all the animals wouldn’t fit in the shelter and that the building wasn’t hurricane-proof, so he took the dogs, the cats, and other animals and brought them into his own home. There were about 300 animals in his house during the hurricane. Ricardo had a lot of food and other necessities prepared for the animals, so everything went smoothly.

He told Bored Panda: “Those 300 dogs that I took into my house are some of the ones that already live at Tierra de Animales. It’s just that we don’t have enough hurricane-proof shelters for all the dogs, so to keep them safe from that, we decided to put them in the house.”

“They were very well-behaved all night during the meteorological phenomenon. They are all spayed and neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed. Almost all of them are ready to be adopted.”

His house was filled with dogs of all shapes and sizes

“I have been rescuing animals almost all my life since I was a kid, and I founded Tierra de Animales 9 years ago. We not only rescue dogs but also cats, turtles, iguanas, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, donkeys, etc.”

Soon there was about 300 of them

“We work with the help of people from all over the world, who donate whatever they can. Of course, after all the damage that the hurricane Delta left behind, we need more help than ever, especially because we are going to build more and better shelters for all the animals of the sanctuary.”
