Oakland-based photographer Laura Plageman aims to explore the representation of landscape, altered and distorted through analog processes. For her ‘Responsible’ series, Plageman printed out the images, physically manipulated them and recaptured them with all their new textures, creases and folds. By treating her photographs as tangible objects, Plageman opens up a new perspective on the pictured landscapes, whose beauty is transformed by human presence as well as their own design.
Plageman’s vision is to “oscillate between image and object, photography and sculpture, landscape and still life.” Check out her experimental landscape photography below, and see more of her work at her website.
