“When I was 17 I became unwell for a year,” said Sara Lopez Ibanez, the designer behind the essential mental health kit called Mindnosis. Years later, after realizing that mental health disorders are very common, she decided to put her MA in Industrial Design at London University Central Saint Martins to use in creating the unique assessment tool.
The therapy kit is designed to be the critical initial communication that patients and doctors have difficulties in establishing. It is made up of tools that can “help understand emotional distress” for people going through mental health issues but are scared to talk about it.
Each tool plays a different role to the recovery of the inflicted. There is a device that is used with a journal in figuring out the patient’s feelings and current situation, as well as cards that aid in behavior therapy.
