Minimalist posters that identify Studio Ghibli films by their color palettes

Artist Hyo Taek Kim has an eye for color palettes – an often overlooked aspect of the anime movies produced by the legendary Studio Ghibli. Kim’s ‘The Colors Of’ series consist of posters distilling each Ghibli film into a set of bars demonstrating the most prominent colors used in the respective film.

It’s a simple concept but intriguing enough to make one want to rewatch these films again, with a new focus on their gorgeous watercolor backgrounds and Hayao Miyazaki’s masterful use of mood-setting colors. Kim is a Brazilian Korean American artist, and these great posters are available as prints on Society6.
