Lisa Ericson is a Portland, Oregon-based artist who’s works surround combinations of flora and fauna one piece at a time. Her series, “Mobile Habitats,” is all about turtles and the important role the creatures play in the ecosystem.

This depicted through small ecosystems that live atop turtle shells, from butterflies, to squirrels and hummingbirds. Ericson says, “These pieces are all about turtles and what they can carry on those amazing half-a-globe shells, and about things that need saving.”
