Moving & Passing Curricular Tactics (M-PACT) with Marc Bamuthi Joseph

In summer 2017 as part of the Guggenheim Social Practice initiative, Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s moving and passing project continued at South Bronx United’s Summer Soccer Scholars program. Joseph’s curriculum was piloted as a five-week course for high school students facilitated by poet and teaching artist Mahogany L. Browne. The curriculum—titled M-PACT—is based on themes borrowed from Joseph’s performance /peh-LO-tah/ and uses art and poetry to focus on contemporary social and political issues.
