Museums from all over Maine recognize the state’s biggest, most profound artists over the summer

Maine is brimming with not just the finest seafood, but also with talented artists that can compete globally.

This summer, various museums are recognizing homegrown talents, including Marsden Hartley, Andrew Wyeth and John Marin, all of whom have played a huge role in making Maine known to the rest of the world.

Other artists also worth talking about are Will Barnet, Dahlov Ipcar and her mother, Marguerite Zorach.

This is a great opportunity for outsiders to get a deep look into Maine’s art history and its best artists while getting a chance to gaze at exemplary works and paintings.

Participating museums include the Colby College Museum of ArtBates College Museum of ArtFarnsworth Art Museum, and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.
