Mutated-face portraiture questions the voices in your head

Carl Beazley is a UK-based artist who creates distorted portraiture in his shocking series ‘Where’s Your Head?’ The work in this series is disturbing and related to unnatural human mutations as well as psychological themes like having multiple personalities. Although these are typically darker topics, Beazley presents them with humor.

“For me art is all about creating a subconscious feeling or atmosphere. I’m not really looking to change people’s views or opinions with my art, I just want them to feel something .”

Beazley is inspired by the world of cinema, particularly the works of Matthew Barney, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Jan Svankmajer, Lars Von Trier, Peter Strickland, Ben Wheatley, György Pálfi, and Gasper Noe. See more of his work on his website.
