New Futures: London July Class of 2023

As part of The Other Art Fair’s continued mission to break down traditional barriers of the contemporary art world, New Futures is designed to help launch the careers of emerging artists through initiatives including free exhibition space at our fairs and mentorship. Ahead of our upcoming Summer Session edition of The Other Art Fair in London, we announce our New Futures winners selected by the Manager of Curation and Art Advisory at Saatchi Art Megan Wright and Fair Founder Ryan Stanier.

The Summer Session 2023 London winners are Marion Aschbacher and Keisuke Azuma.

Marion is a London-based, Reunion Island-born artist specialising in painting and sculpture. Her work focuses on exploring themes of diaspora and nostalgia in reference to her home country, drawing upon cultural references and experiences surrounding her childhood. Marion is a BA Fine Art graduate from Goldsmiths University of London. She has been featured in numerous group shows in London. She is currently part of Floor Five collective who have recently completed a year-long residency at Goldsmiths CCA.

Keisuke is a London-based artist born in Japan, whose practice reaches into the complex terrain of emotions and memories. Employing landscapes as his primary subject matter, Keisuke creates works that are accessible to many viewers, regardless of their familiarity with contemporary art. Through his use of the natural world, Keisuke invites viewers to explore their own inner states, opening up an infinite range of interpretations and meanings. Keisuke’s work is grounded in his intuitive abstract expression, which he developed while studying Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts.
