Interior designer Ashley Sutton’s nonchalance is the only answer you can get from him if you praise him about his recently opened bar in Hong Kong. After all, according to the designer, “it’s just another bar.” But judging from the sweet and unique blend of rustic design and butterfly art, it definitely is not like any other.
The Iron Fairies is conceived mainly from his first Iron Fairies in Bangkok which was Sutton’s first debut project as an interior designer. The ceiling is flooded with 10,000 butterflies, all their natural elements preserved. The furniture inside the bar also adds to its mystery. With furnaces and little private drinking rooms with rustic furniture, the bar exudes both elegance and charm.

Sutton’s works are inspired from his days working at an underground iron-ore mine in Western Australia.
