Cats have become iconic in more ways than one. Artist Endre Penovác’s latest series depicts just the kind of ominousness that surrounds felines (and roosters!).
The artist has released a collection of paintings that cats and roosters in all their mystery. Watercolor with diluted ink in the paintings provides astonishing results with Penovác allowing the medium to bleed in various spots of the canvas. This seemingly spontaneous act on the ink’s part results in perfectly-rendered fur and hazy edges that dissipate outward.
