MAP Fund
MAP’s 2022 grant cycle will provide $30,000 each to 85 new, live performance projects across all regions of the United States. $25,000 is meant for project funds while the remaining $5,000 is unrestricted.

Queer | Art – Illuminations Grant
Awarded to draw attention to an existing body of work, this annual $10,000 grant is intended to support and shed light on Black trans women visual artists. Four finalists will also each receive $1,250.

The Lumen Prize
With $11,500 worth of cash prizes for nine award categories, all artists who engage with technology in some form in their work are eligible to enter this competition. The application fee is $40 for two submissions.

Velvetpark LGBTQ+ Visual Artist Residency
Applications are open for Velvetpark’s Visual Arts Residency, which awards an LGBTQ+ artist with six months of workspace in Brooklyn to explore and complete a project or body of work. The fee to apply is $25.

Voice’s virtual NFT Residency is for creators from underrepresented and marginalized communities. Collections cover themes like equity & justice, clean planet, future-proof, and well-being. Residents receive a creation stipend, earnings bonus, and marketing promotion.

China Residencies – The Future of Memory Residency
Four media artists will receive unrestricted stipends of $2,000 each for this online residency program, the theme of which is resisting and interrogating algorithmic surveillance and control.

Library of Congress 2022–2023 Innovator in Residence
Selected residents will receive $80,00 per year for a maximum of two years to conduct research with the Library of Congress collections, produce an innovative digital work, and serve as an ambassador for the institution.

NEH-Mellon Fellowships for Digital Publication
Individual scholars pursuing interpretive research projects that require digital expression and digital publication can apply for this fellowship, which awards a maximum of $5,000 per month for six to 12 months.

Studio Museum in Harlem Artist-in-Residence
Three artists of African or Afro-Latinx descent working in any mediums will receive institutional guidance, professional development, research support, and a $25,000 stipend paid biweekly over the 11-month residency.

The Latinx Project at NYU Artist-in-Residence
A good fit for artists who maintain a research/digital practice and can pursue material-heavy projects elsewhere, the resident will get an honorarium of up to $10,000, a $5,000 budget for a solo presentation at NYU, and more.

Open Calls for Art & Writing

Hudson Valley MOCA – Enlighten Peekskill
Experienced sculptors can submit proposals to create light-emitting works for installation along the path from downtown Peekskill to the Metro North train station. $30,000 per sculpture is available, plus a $5,000 artist’s stipend.

New York State Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation – Marsha P. Johnson State Park Monument
Artists are invited to submit proposals to design, fabricate, and install an ornamental gateway at the entrance of Marsha P. Johnson State Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The budget for the project shouldn’t exceed $1,300,000.

The Latinx Project at NYU – Curatorial Projects
Curators, scholars, and artists living and working in the US can submit proposals to develop an exhibition exploring the past and futures of Latinx art. A tentative budget totaling up to $15,000 is available.
