Visual artists and collectives at any stage in their career who have lived and worked within Harris County for a minimum of two years can apply for unrestricted funds of $10,000.

Homegrown Future Visions
Eight emerging BIPOC filmmakers in the American Midwest will receive $35,000 to produce an 8–10 minute non-fiction short film for Firelight’s new regional shorts initiative.

Carmignac Photojournalism Award
This €50,000 (~$59,000) award will provide support for a photojournalistic project documenting the volatile social crisis currently happening in Venezuela. Photographers of all nationalities are welcome to apply.

New England Foundation for the Arts
Public Art for Spatial Justice Grants
Ranging from $5,000 to $15,000, these grants for Massachusetts-based artists or collectives aim to support public art that helps us see, feel, experience, and imagine spatial justice.

Recharge Foundation
Recharge New Surrealist Prize
Painters living in the United States and US Territories who are working in the New Surrealist style are eligible for this $7,000 award.

VIA Art Fund
Artistic Production Grants
Intended to support new commissions that best exemplify VIA Art Fund’s core values of artistic production, thought leadership, and public engagement, these grants range from $25,000 to $100,000.

Wherewithal Grants
Visual artists in the Washington, DC area can apply for $5,000 collaborative research or project grants for 2022, depending on what best supports their practice at this time. Up to 12 grants will be awarded.

Organizations in Residence

Metropolitan Museum of Art
2022–2023 Met Fellowship Program
Over 50 year-long fellowships will be awarded to junior scholars, postdoctoral and senior academics, and museum professionals. Funding ranges from $42,000 to over $60,000, with additional travel stipends available.

Squeaky Wheel
Spring 2022 Workspace Residency
This two-week project-based residency in Buffalo, New York provides $1,000 in artist fees and stipends, as well as up to $700 in financial assistance for childcare and/or disability support.
