Original watercolor art of Ghost in the Shell will be on display at London’s House of Illustration

The Hollywood remake of Japanese sci-fi anime Ghost in the Shell was one film that most movie-goers anticipated for mainly for Scarlett Johansson’s participation. But before the big-budget film came to be, Hiromasa Ogura’s creation has already created a massive underground cult that has been following his anime epic for years.

In honor of the original illustrations, the Ghost in the Shell World Art Expo 2017 was held at Seibu Gallery in the Seibu Ikebukuro department store last April 3. Previous expositions of the sci-fi anime have included original illustrations of the manga, remakes, and collector’s merchandise.
