The Alps, despite being a visual treat for travelled year-round, are home to some otherworldly sights such as ones found in South Tyrol, a province in Northern Italy.
Photographer Kilian Schönberger‘s new series, “Otherworld,” showcases the region’s alien-like formations, also known as “earth pyramids” encapsulated in hazy lighting. The formations were created by erosion and arose from clay soil left behind by the last Ice Age.
