Photographs of deep-fried gadgets show the correlation between fast food and technology

For their conceptual series ‘Deep-fried Gadgets,’ photographer Henry Hargreaves and stylist Caitlin Levin aimed to visualize just that: various gadgets deep fried in golden brown batter. At first, it sounds like a silly visual gimmick, designed purely to attract viral attention. However, there is more to the concept, which is beautifully executed to crispy results.

The series provides a commentary on technology fads and their short lifespans. According to Hargreaves, there exists a correlation between fast food and gadgets, as they are “quickly devoured and then discarded because of our appetite for the newest product.” To drive his point home, in fact, most of the products pictured here have all probably gone out of fashion as the latest Apple models arrive.
