Pop culture icons become abstract cubist paintings

Barcelona-based illustrator Federico Babina, whom we’ve featured before, once again puts his excellent illustration skills to the test with a new project formed from a unique idea. “Inkonic Faces” is a collection of familiar faces in popular culture in the style of cubism.

Reminiscent of some of Picasso’s paintings, the portraits are minimalist, yet recognizable with their figures reduced to simple shapes and lines.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

Icons like John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe, Frida Kahlo, Audrey Hepburn, Bruce Lee, Andy Warhol, Alfred Hitchcock, the Mona Lisa, Salvador Dali, and more are shown in a whole new light.

Check out a few selections from the set below, and visit Babina’s website for more cubist portraits.
