Make art with us! These exhibition-based workshops encourage creative inspiration for different activities, so make sure to check out the corresponding galleries. No prior art-making experience is necessary; our friendly staff will happily work with you on your creation. All ages are welcome!

These workshops take place on Friday, June 14, 21, and 28.

Southern California’s beautiful weather makes it perfect for cruising through the streets in your car. The region is also known for auto clubs where people can show off their lowriders, often adorned with amazing works of art embodying personal, cultural, and political expressions. Artist Vincent Valdez has incorporated some of these elements into his artwork El Chavez Ravine, which was originally a Good Humor ice cream truck.

This June, we invite you to explore the exhibition Vincent Valdez and Ry Cooder: El Chavez Ravine, which points out a tragic moment in history and initiates conversations about discrimination and displacement. For this month’s workshop, join us to reflect on cultural symbols or historical events that hold significance for you and use a 1964 Chevrolet Impala template to create a piece of artwork!

Masks are recommended in galleries. No food or drink in the galleries.
