Tomorrow (July 7th), Cleon Peterson will be opening a brutal new show at the Los Angeles location of Over The Influence. Featuring new acrylic-on-canvas paintings, small bronze sculptures, and one large-scale sculpture, Blood & Soil will continue the locally-based artist’s provocative treatise on the dynamics of power, violence, and oppression. Taking the title of the exhibition from a Nazi slogan, Peterson takes an unflinching look at the rise of nationalism, populist fervor, economic inequality, and political corruption where the lawbreakers and law enforcers are one and the same in today’s world with his stark black, red, and white colored paintings.
