Prince’s Estate Is Hiring an Archivist to Care for Artifacts and Unreleased Material

If you’re a Prince fan, you’ve probably gotten glimpses of his personal life through revealing documentaries, intimate interviews, and informative books, like Prince: A Private View. Imagine, however, if in addition to these eye-opening resources, you could explore the late musician’s estate and get up-close-and-personal with his private possessions. While this may seem too good to be true for most fans, Paisley Park—Prince’s home and studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota—is looking to make one lucky archivist’s dreams come true.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

In a recently posted job announcement, the house-turned-museum advertises the role of an Archives Supervisor. This full-time position revolves around “work in the care, catalog, storage and preservation of all artifacts and archival materials,” including an abundance of unreleased material. It also entails travel, and exciting access to “a confidential work area.”

Of course, like any job, there are special conditions attached. In addition to “variable/flexible working hours” that may include work on weekends, holidays, and in the evening, the post also requires that you “adhere to a pescatarian environment.” Though this request may seem a bit unusual, Prince’s former chef, Margaret Wetzler, has noted that the “Purple Rain” singer bounced between vegetarianism, veganism, and the pesco-vegetarian diet.

So, if you’re an experienced archivist, a fan of fish, and interested in this out-of-this-world opportunity, submit your application through the Paisley Park website.

Good luck (and “Good Love”)!

This archivist job at Prince’s estate, Paisley Park, is any musical museum professionals’ dream come true.
