Jerry N. Uelsmann, artist

Jerry Uelsmann, whose work is currently shown in the exhibition Faking It: Manipulated Photography Before Photoshop, describes his influences and his evolution as an artist. Using multiple projectors and darkroom techniques, he creates dreamlike images that are considered precursors to manipulated photographs created using Photoshop.

The exhibition Faking It: Manipulated Photography Before Photoshop is on view October 11, 2012–January 27, 2013 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The exhibition is made possible by Adobe. The catalogue is made possible by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
