Using quirky illustrations and fun wordplay, this artist has created silly posters that would seem fitting in a high school classroom. Aron Vellekoop León has created a clever design series called ‘Visionary Words’ in which the artist depicts the literal meaning of compound words.
For the words used, some keep their original meanings while others get entirely new meanings. The words include “machinegun,” where the gun illustration is actually a machine; “chopstick,” where a stick is being chopped; and “earnest,” where a human ear is serving as a birds nest.
