From a bustling cafe to the comfort of a family meal to the morning quietude of a specialty shop, Rain Szeto’s illustrations (previously) capture inviting, everyday places in vibrant detail. The artist’s portraits of local places often radiate from a central vignette of a lone employee, a family interaction, or feline resident making its daily rounds. She treats every scene with with great attention to its unique characteristics, outlining stacks of merchandise, architectural details, and personal effects into chaotic yet appealing tableaux.
