Macro photography doesn’t always have to involve insects and other tiny things. You can use it to see the tiniest details in bigger things like birds!
Photographer Jess Findlay managed to capture a stunningly detailed photo of a fiery-throated hummingbird in the Talamanca Mountains in Costa Rica. The Vancouver native waited patiently for several hours for just the right angle. He says, “What made this a challenge was how fidgety these birds can be and the fact that the full spectrum of colour is only seen when they pause at a very specific angle.” Check out the fantastic image below and find more of his work on Instagram.
