Retro-futuristic illustrations explore space and time

Australian illustrator Dan McPharlin has a fascination with all things space. Strange planets, spaceships and astronauts are recurring themes in his works that hark back to the golden days of ’70s sci-fi illustration. They are particularly reminiscent of those found in ‘Heavy Metal’ – a cult adult comics magazine. His retro-futuristic imagery is a perfect match for the electronic music of Prefuse 73 and Pretty Lights, for whom he has provided album artwork.

Even though McPharlin seems to have been inactive in recent years, his works are available online to be appreciated by all.
