Retro-Robots remind us what the future would have been like 50 years ago.

In our ever-expanding pursuit of technology and intelligence it’s only a matter of time before the first walking, talking robot is born. But what will he look like? If Mike Rivamonte had his way, it would probably be built out of a toaster and furnished with a jet pack made of speakers!

Mike Rivamonte is a Miami native who loves to make sculptures out of trash. For his line of retro robot creations he used all recycled materials from the ’50s, creating a vintage feel mixed with steampunk attitude. His adorable robots look like they are fit for Pixar, but there’s no need to wait for a movie. All his incredible creations are available on his website, and could soon be seen on permanent display. Rivamonte is raising money for a giant robot sculpture that might just become a permanent Florida attraction.
