Oi YOU! were asked to come up with a concept for a wall in the centre of Christchurch, Ōtautahi in Māori, in an area that has come to be know as the SALT district during the rebuild after the earthquakes.
Once we’d realised that a three dimensional image was going to best fit the building’s architecture we asked local artist and old school sign-writer Paul Walters to come up with a design that incorporated the SALT name.
Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.
Dcypher worked with Paul on the design for the Ōtautahi section and the two artists along with the Oi YOU! crew including Clint Park brought the designs to life over a two and a half week period.
