Salvador Dali’s rare illustrations of tragic love story to be sold at auction

A rare set of signed Salvador Dali lithographs produced for the well-known tragic love story “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, are to be sold at auction in the near future. The set, number 819 out of 999 copies, comes as part of a book produced for the famous tragedy and will be sold by Lockport Street Galley.

Salvador Dali is the infamous surrealist painter best remembered for his work “Persistence of Memory.” Dali produced several painted iterations of other famous stories including “Don Quixote” and “Alice in Wonderland.” The gallery has stated that interest in the booklet is already reaching a fever pitch, but much more is expected as word spreads.
