The 2017 Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair held last February 7 to 11 has seen an increase in innovation with regards to Scandinavian design. And a number of furniture designers have made it to our list of people to watch out for.
Scandinavian design still does not disappoint and it is all thanks to these amazing and emerging talents from all over the world. Maija Leskelä’s Bauhaus-inspired leather back chairs, for one, showed simplicity in elegance. The HAHA Studios, led by Arash Eskafi and Yu-Ching Chiang presented a collection of pendant lamps that are both standard and non-electric. Sydney’s Tom Fereday also brought to the fair his Australian flair when it comes to curving chairs made with sustainable materials. And Knauf and Brown, Vancouver’s pride, exhibited a collection at the fair which they have earlier won a Rising Star accolade at the Editor’s Choice awards for. Others worth mentioning are Studio Kaksikko, Toru, and Ella Westlund and Hanna Wik.

The fair, which was participated by more than 60 countries worldwide, has chosen Spanish artist and international designer Jaime Hayon as this year’s Guest of Honor.
