Scotland’s Mellerstain’s House and Gardens get a makeover thanks to inflatable installations that protrude from its landscape.
Built in 1725, the estate comprises of two old structures and a lake. The installation, titled “XXX,” were created by environmental artist Steven Messam as part of the first exhibition on the grounds which have now been opened as a site for open-air contemporary art. “Pointed” is one of the pieces of Messam’s installation with its daunting spikes jutting out from the former gatehouse of the estate.
