Pontus Willfors‘ nature-inspired furniture bridges the gap between the functional and the sculptural.
With this series of ornate chairs, Willfors aims to explore “aspects of nature that are viewed by our society as product, nuisance or waste.” Root systems and tree branches sprout from chair legs and seats as if there’s no limit to their growth while also speaking about their origins. The LA-based artist was born in Sweden and several of his works have been exhibited as part of Homeland at Edward Cella Art+Architecture. Check out some of his latest works below!
