Sculpture Installations by Isaac Cordal in Portugal and Belgium

Last August, artist Isaac Cordal became a part of Fazunchar Festival in Figueiro dos Vinhos in Portugal organised by Mistakermaker.  He had the opportunity to install his miniature sculptures in different spaces on the village — reflecting on the passage of time, emigration, the abandonment of the countryside and the climate crisis among other issues. These sculptures resemble tiny wooden houses with solar panels that light up at nightfall.

Another of Isaac Cordal recent projects took place last July. He spent time on the south of Belgium and worked for a project organised by All About Th1ngs. They installed 41 sculptures in the villages of Binche, Écaussinnes, La Louvière, Seneffe and surroundings. The have added new tiny neighbours to the Belgian countryside.

Isaac Cordal is a Galician born street artist, best known for his miniature sculpture and photography in our urban environment. He is based in Brussels and Galicia; he manages to give a new meaning to the minimalism artwork everywhere he goes.

The artist is sympathetic toward his little people and you can empathize with their situations. The sculptures can be found in gutters, on top of buildings, on top of bus shelters; in many unusual and unlikely places.
