Braving the wintery cold night last October, photographer Johannes Holzer took a series of long-exposure shots along the Isar River in Southern Germany.
This is perhaps one of the most dazzling photographs we’ve ever come across. It features a dramatic view of the Milky Way in the background of a mountain range with the gorgeously translucent Isar river in the foreground. According to Holzer, the photo “was done with two cameras, [the] sky with a Sony A7r and Vixen Polarie Startracker, one additional shot for the landscape without [a] Startracker, [and] underwater was done with a Canon 5Dm2 with an EWA Underwater case.” Definitely a ton of work but it surely paid off!
