Taming Traders: Origins of the New York Stock Exchange is the perfect art exhibit to check out if you are ever wondering about the origins of the Stock Exchange. See how the market has changed over the past two centuries. This year marks the 225th anniversary of the NYSE, and the New York Historical is showcasing selected artworks to commemorate it.
To go along the visual art (early bond and stock certificates, correspondence, portraits of traders, and views of Wall Street and the Tontine Coffee House), there will also be certain video clips from another New York Historical project “Remembering Wall Street, 1950-1980.”
