Self-taught painter explores the darker side of humanity

Lora Zombie is a self-taught and undeniably talented young painter from Russia. Born in a small town in 1990, she is already a well-recognized star in the urban art scene. The artist’s distinctive splashy style of watercolors started to gain popularity online in the late 2000s. She has also gained offline recognition in recent years, with exhibitions held in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and St. Petersburg.

Zombie’s works feature offbeat urban characters or even celebrities, water-colored in her own developed grungy and raw style. The painter ingeniously uses paint to raise sensitive questions about war and peace. You can follow Lora Zombie on her website.
