Sheena Lennox is a self-taught artist, born and raised in London. Having grown up in the bright ’80s, she was always in awe of how the bold and vibrant colors of street art and graffiti could brighten up the most subdued spaces in the darkest parts of the city’s. This is what inspired her to create art that brightens lives and spaces also. Blending various styles with a nod to street art culture in both physical and digital mediums, her all-or-nothing, determined personality is infused in her work.
How would you describe your artistic style and practice?
I work with acrylic and spray paint producing many different styles of colourful abstract and street art. I enjoy combining my physical art with photographs and images, producing some unique and eye-catching digital artworks. Working on digital art has opened up further space for me to be creative and generate a variety of fresh ideas.

I am inspired by music and fashion, so relish any opportunity to incorporate my knowledge and passion for these alternative forms of art within my designs. I aim to break boundaries within art and break free from restrictions of style and form as an artist. I want to share my journey through my work and my fearlessly rebellious, creative mind with the world.
How did you you got into digital art?
I am constantly pushing myself and my creativity. In the first lockdown, I painted A LOT, so much that I ran out of space in my flat. I needed to find another way to create without losing any more space and spending any more money… I then found Photoshop!!
I started using images of my abstract (physical) paintings and merge them with images of album covers and photography- anything that stood out to me. I would spend hours seeking out the perfect image to merge with my artwork using my iPhone. I could create art anywhere using my iPhone and it was accessible, wherever I had my phone I could create. It was ideal!

Was this your first experience with NFTs? And if so, how did it compare with your expectations?
I have wanted to enter the world of NFTs for some time but was quickly overwhelmed by the complexities of the whole process and never really got past the research part of the process. So, when I received an invitation for this opportunity, it was hard to pass up on.
Creating the NFTs were a little daunting at first but then once I became comfortable with the process my Avatars started to come to life!
How did you approach this project?
It was important for me to put my “stamp” on my Avatars. This project allowed me to do just that. The Avatars started to transform and subconsciously take on parts of my personality, the anarchic, rebellious side of me that’s not always apparent when you first meet me, I’m a little cheeky and love to push boundaries. My avatars are a mixture of my abstract and street art mixed with various pictures to layer and blend images on to each Avatar using adobe photoshop. My Avatars are a little rebellious, they have personality and subconsciously I feel I have created each one with a little of my character. I was allowed to show this within the creations and it became more apparent that my Motley Crew of VG’s were transforming into a bunch of little Sheena’s!!
After weeks of working on the Avatars. I realised that I have become extremely attached to my “Crew”..they are more than just Avatars. They are me!
Is there anything else you’d like to add about your experience working on The Other Avatars?
I am so extremely honoured to be part of this fantastic project with all these amazing artist. Their talent has blown my mind!
