When looking at Shuji Kobayashi’s photographs you may notice it’s not just about taking photos of beautiful young women. Using natural light in diverse private environments, the Japanese photographer wants to capture the uniqueness and vulnerable intimacy of a particular moment. His dreamlike images convey a sense of nostalgia and thoughtfulness with a good dose of sensual seduction. Years ago, he moved to the US with the goal to pursue a career as a film director but eventually he ended up working as a photographer for several film and fashion magazines.
