The Tokyo-based design studio YOY has created another novel product called CANVAS. This set of furniture looks like screen-printed wall decoration, but surprisingly, they are actually completely functional objects of furniture. The cheeky, fool-the-eye prints create beautiful wall-art, while still functioning as your regular couch or sofa.
The frame is fabricated from wood and aluminum material, covered with an elastic fabric which holds the weight of the user. CANVAS furniture comes in an armchair, chair, and a sofa, which melds into the background to produce an extraordinary design experience. Sitting on one of these illusional objects makes you feel like you are a part of the “painting.”
