Smoke: Colored gaseous elements erupt from ladders in industrial environments

Ken Hermann photographed these amazing colored plumes in a project art directed by Gem Fletcher.

The project, simply titled, Smoke, depicts colored gaseous masses as they disperse into the air centred in the frame. The smoke erupts from ladders located in industrial environments and serves as a sequel to Hermann’s previous series, Explosion 2.0, in which a group of portraits bursted with fire as opposed to smoke. In this series, the direction of the wind plays an important part, dispersing the puffs in various directions.
