Designed by a New Zealand carpenter, this unusual-looking Morgan Square is a measuring tool aimed at frame carpenters.

It has protrusions to hold a tape measure (both the body and the extended tape) in place, as well as a third protrusion perfectly sized to hold a carpenter’s pencil. The tongue is precisely 1.5″ thick, matching the width of a 2×4. Used all together, the tool makes marking stud positions on top and bottom plates faster.
