A few humorous murals began turning up in Barcelona this past year by a revered street artist.
The artist known as Penao uses windows and holes on the sides of abandoned buildings to create quirky faces, complete with noses and lips. Couple their hilarious smiles with missing and crooked teeth, and you’ve got something truly maniacal. The murals were part of the Murs Lliures project, which aims to pair artists with urban spaces for the sake of public art.
