Aerial views often reveal a rarely seen essence of the places we live. They show unseen structure, or chaos, or beauty that is as telling of a place as the micro people living within it. Photographer and filmmaker Vincent Laforet took two night helicopter rides above the great city of San Fransisco with its iconic bridges, hills, and fog to explore the area from above.
The photos were shot for his upcoming photo book ‘AIR’ and show both low altitude shots and high altitude perspectives, reaching upwards of 7,200 feet. His night photos reveal a stunning glowing city, bursting with life in an organized grid structure. Other cities included in Laforet’s new book are Las Vagas and New York.
