Stunning aerial photographs of Holland’s tulips in bloom

These images are fields of color—but that does not link them to the color field painting movement. Instead, these are actual fields of color resulting from Holland’s widely known tulip growing industry. The aerial photographs by Peter Adams show rows of brilliantly colored flowers.

The zoomed out photographs taken from high above the fields are abstractions of an unusual landscape. It is only through the small appearances of a tractor or a field-worker that the reality of what the images are capturing truly starts to take form. In order to get photographs with the maximum color punch, Adams planned the timing of his photo shoot to occur just before the harvest.
