Stunningly delicious maps made entirely out of food. South America looks delicious!

If you’ve ever visited another country you’ve probably experienced the question, “What’s the food like there?” Food, as much as landmarks and language, defines one’s experience of a place. ‘Food Maps,’ a project developed by Henry Hargreaves and Caitlin Levin, exhibits countries crafted out of the foods that we associate them with: France is composed of bread and cheese; Japan, seaweed; Africa, bananas; and America, different corn products.

Hargreaves, a fashion and still life photographer, and Levin, a food-stylist, have collaborated in the past on ‘Deep Fried Gadgets,’ and ‘Gingerbread and Candy Art Galleries.’ Their new project ‘Food Maps’ shows the migration and simulation of food across continents, as well as how food “starts conversation – just as we hope these beautiful maps will do too.”
