The State University of New York at New Paltz’s 2020 Master of Fine Arts online exhibition showcases the work of SUNY’s largest studio art MFA program. In response to the unprecedented worldwide pandemic, we have postponed our physical exhibition in the nationally renowned Dorsky Museum until the fall. We recognize the immediate importance of supporting our graduate students’ creative research in a new way: through online documentation.

We invite you to join our radically innovative students as they share their creative reimagining of the world. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many of our students were unable to complete their thesis project before our studios closed; the work in this exhibition represents a view into their creative process and demonstrates how our community stays active even in the face of adversity. We hope that you will check back in the fall to see how this work has progressed and that we’ll be able to welcome you in person to their thesis exhibition in the Dorsky Museum on our campus.

SUNY New Paltz’s MFA program combines the best aspects of a vigorous studio practice within the context of a comprehensive liberal arts education. Our proximity to New York City, affordable tuition, numerous scholarship and assistantship opportunities, and nationally recognized programs attract a broad variety of competitive, skilled graduate students from around the world. We are excited to share their work with you.
