Internationally acclaimed London-based artist Katharine Morling creates what she describes as three-dimensional drawings. Her purely ceramic artwork creates a convincing illusion of sketchy-looking pen drawings. The sculptures mirror everyday objects, highly influenced by vintage style with a nostalgic note.
Morling creates life-sized sculptures, making the resulting experience highly surreal for the artist herself. The artifacts of everyday life look like they’ve come from some other dimension and communicate the concepts of temporality and fragility. “My searching is never complete,” admits Morling, “Each piece is a journey for answers that are only hinted at with more questions.”
