Swirling, hurricane-like scene made from salt in medieval castle

Salt has a million different uses and one of them includes art. Motoi Yamamoto uses it to create stunning large scale works on the floor.

As part of his latest exhibition, “Universal”, Yamamoto has created two pieces housed inside of a 13th-century medieval castle in Aigues-Mortes, south of France. One of the pieces, called “Floating Garden”, is located in a circular room and takes the form of swirling, hurricane-like clouds over a murky ocean. It’s amazing how deceptively photographic it looks when viewed from a distance.
