Teacher uses hand as medium for fun portrait project

You’re going to wish you had a teacher like this…

First-grade teacher Russel Powell has taken to using a unique medium for his realistic portrait paintings: his hand.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

Painting them on quickly before they have time to dry, Powell then stamps the image onto a white piece of paper. They appear more detailed than it seems possible, and the outline of Powell’s hand becomes part of the image, adding a unique twist to the portraits.

Those portrayed include Kurt Cobain, Jack Sparrow, the Dalai Lama and John Lennon.

He calls this “hand-stamping” and does similar projects with his students.
