Learn everything you need to know about how to make a self-portrait! We’ll explore work by Bridget Riley, Luchita Hurtado, and Pablo Picasso, as well as the choices artists make to convey likeness, emotion, and expression. You’ll get to tackle the complexities of painting your own likeness while getting expert tips on techniques using watercolor and pens. With artist Shannon Green.

Join on your computer or tablet wherever you have internet. A Zoom link and art materials list will be sent to you prior to class. Students are responsible for providing their own art materials based on recommendations provided by the teaching artist.

Shannon Green is an illustrator, painter, and color designer who loves teaching art to both children and adults. He is the founder of The Cool School Los Angeles and has been a teaching artist at LACMA since 2004. Shannon’s experience teaching includes residencies at various public, private, and charter schools, and as faculty at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Instagram: @thecoolschool.la
